Tafsir — Yunus 85

Then after him We sent Messengers to their people. They brought them clear proofs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus We seal the hearts of the transgressors (74) Meaning, then after Nuh We sent Messengers to their people. They brought them clear proofs. and evidences of the truth that they came with. فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ (But they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand) meaning the nations did not believe what their Messengers brought to them because they already rejected it from the beginning. Allah said: وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفْئِدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَارَهُمْ (And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance).)(6:110) He then said here, كَذَٰلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ الْمُعْتَدِينَ (Thus We seal the hearts of the transgressors.) This means that as Allah has set seals on the hearts of those people, such that they would not believe since they previously rejected faith, He would also set seals on the hearts of the people that are like them, who will come after them. They would not believe until they see the severe torment. This means that Allah destroyed the nations after Nuh. He destroyed the nations that rejected the Messengers and saved those who believed from among them. From the time of Adam to Nuh, people followed Islam. Then they invented the worship of idols. So Allah sent Nuh to them. That is why the believers will say to him on the Day of Resurrection, "You are the first Messenger Allah sent to the people of the earth." Ibn 'Abbas said: "There were ten generations between Adam and Nuh, and all of them were following Islam." Allah also said: وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن بَعْدِ نُوحٍ (And how many generations have We destroyed after Nuh!)(17:17) This was a serious warning to the Arab pagans, who rejected the leader and last of the Messengers and Prophets. If the people before them who rejected their Messengers had received this much punishment, then what did they think will happen to them since they perpetrated even greater sins than others before them?

われらはそれからしばらくして、ヌーフの後に使徒たちを民に遣わした。使徒たちは圧倒的な奇跡と純粋な法を携え、彼らの共同体に遣わされた。しかし、彼らは過去同様、信じようとはしなかった。それでアッラーは彼らの心を封じられた。過去に使徒たちを拒絶した者たちの心を封じたように、われらはあらゆる時代と場所において、不信仰を犯し、アッラーの定めた限度を超えた不信仰者の心を封じるのである。

سلسلہ رسالت کا تذکرہ حضرت نوح ؑ کے بعد بھی رسولوں کا سلسلہ جاری رہا ہر رسول اپنی قوم کی طرف اللہ کا پیغام اور اپنی سچائی کی دلیلیں لے کر آتا رہا۔ لیکن عموما ان سب کے ساتھ بھی لوگوں کی وہی پرانی روش رہی۔ یعنی ان کی سچائی تسلیم کو نہ کیا جیسے (وَنُقَلِّبُ اَفْــــِٕدَتَهُمْ وَاَبْصَارَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوْا بِهٖٓ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّنَذَرُهُمْ فِيْ طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُوْنَ01100؀) 6۔ الانعام :110) میں ہے۔ پس ان کے حد سے بڑھ جانے کی وجہ سے جس طرح ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگ گئی۔ اسی طرح ان جیسے تمام لوگوں کے دل مہر زدہ ہوجاتے ہیں اور عذاب دیکھ لینے سے پہلے انہیں ایمان نصیب نہیں ہوتا یعی نبیوں اور ان کے تابعداروں کو بچا لینا اور مخالفین کو ہلاک کرنا۔ حضرت نوح نبی ؑ کے بعد سے برابر یہی ہوتا رہا ہے۔ حضرت آدم ؑ کے زمانے میں بھی انسان زمین پر آباد تھے۔ جب ان میں بت پرست شروع ہوگئی تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے پیغمبر حضرت نوح ؑ کو ان میں بھیجا۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ جب قیامت کے دن لوگ حضرت نوح ؑ کے پاس سفارش کی درخواست لے کر جائیں گے تو کہیں گے کہ آپ پہلے رسول ہیں۔ جنہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے زمین والوں کی طرف مبعوث فرمایا۔ حضرت ابن عباس ؓ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت آدم ؑ اور حضرت نوح ؑ کے درمیان دس زمانے گزرے اور وہ سب اسلام میں ہی گزرے ہیں۔ اسی لیے فرمان اللہ ہے کہ حضرت نوح ؑ کے بعد کے آنے والے ہم نے ان کی بد کرداریوں کے باعث ہلاک کردیا۔ مقصود یہ کہ ان باتوں کو سن کر مشرکین عرب ہوشیار ہوجائیں کیونکہ وہ سب سے افضل و اعلیٰ نبی کو جھٹلا رہے ہیں۔ پس جب کہ ان کے کم مرتبہ نبیوں اور رسولوں کے جھٹلانے پر ایسے دہشت افزاء عذاب سابقہ لوگوں پر نازل ہوچکے ہیں تو اس سید المرسلین ﷺ امام الانبیاء ﷺ کے جھٹلانے پر ان سے بھی بدترین عذاب ان پر نازل ہوں گے۔
